Business Partners

Here at Balgownie Estate, we actively nurture relationships with preferred business partners. In developing these strategic alliances our aim is to support the local region as well as provide our valued guests with a totally pleasurable, professional and diverse experience. Enjoy!

Bendigo Vineyard

Our Bendigo vineyard covers around 30 hectares of plantings with the majority being Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition we have smaller plantings of Merlot, Chardonnay and Viognier. The vineyard was first planted in 1969 on a gentle slope along Myers Creek in well drained alluvial soils.

Our viticulturist John Monteath nurtures these now gnarled old vines to produce the best possible fruit year in and year out. The colour and concentrated flavours that these vines provide are evident in our wines and our success in recent times has been built around this superior quality fruit and the talents of winemaker Tobias Ansted to guide this into bottle.

Bendigo Cellar Door

Balgownie Estate is one of Australia's great small vineyards famed for its long lived Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz and the Cellar Door is the place to start your experience.

Today, a visit to Balgownie Estate Bendigo, takes you through a driveway lined with olive trees and vineyards. Further along sits the original cottage and high pitched roof winery, surrounded by rugged gnarly iron bark and box gum trees. The cellar door boasts a wine tasting and sales area, a café, and wine museum.

Our entire range is open for tasting including our flagship White Label Cabernet, White Label Shiraz and the Yarra Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
